1. Use your personality, perspective and behavior to create humanistically powerful leadership skills that invigorate others.
Leadership begins in the mind and personality of the leader. Through the Personalized Leadership Development Program?, you will identify your leadership strengths and weaknesses and learn ways to use your resources – personality, perspective, and behavior – more skillfully. For the most part, people believe they act according to conscious beliefs and intentions. But the fact is that people also respond to unconscious beliefs and intentions, many of which are negative and self-defeating yet just as potent, if not more so, than conscious beliefs. One purpose of the Personalized Leadership Development Program? is to make you cognizant of and give you control over negative beliefs and intentions so that you may stop them from adversely affecting your otherwise positive intentions regarding your leadership ability.
The leadership development training program allows you to examine how you construct the belief system that drives your behavior. You will discover the subtle manifestations of your subconscious and learn to manage your emotions – including those of which you are likely unaware – to support your goals. Only then will you be able to change in ways that will enable you to influence others more powerfully. You will leave with a tangible plan – a psychological roadmap – so that you can use your intrapersonal resources more effectively to create highly credible leadership and thus a highly motivated responsiveness from others.
2. Apply the principles of motivation to create effective, energized associates.
If you look backward and no one is following, you are not leading. No matter how well you manage your business or firm, your success ultimately depends on how well you lead others to reach goals. In the leadership development training, we will actually experience leadership principles as they relate to authenticity so that whatever techniques you may learn later in life will be driven through an optimized personality or delivery system.
Only when you are operating out of your authentic self can others experience a meaningful human connectedness with you, one that inspires them into becoming the motivated, satisfied and productive employees and associates you need. Furthermore, when you are operating out of authenticity under adverse conditions, including terminations, your associates will cooperate with you, and appreciate your role. Imagine, too, the implications of your relating more authentically with your family members at home. Creating a family of greater harmony can only serve to enhance your work life – and vice versa.
3. Understand and manage the leadership process despite the nature of your pressing challenges.
As a leader, your task is to manage the leadership process. The Personalized Leadership Development Program? will give you a clear, even simple, understanding of the nature of that complex process and how you must manage your intrapersonal resources so that these fit into and support the overall leadership process. Many factors – personality, spirituality, thoughts, behaviors, emotions, relationships, groups, organizations and the community – interact to support or weaken your effectiveness as a leader depending on how you use or do not use them. You will use an in-depth model to better understand and deal successfully with the interplay of these factors.
4. Hone your emotional intelligence with emotional intelligence training in order to maintain your competitive edge in our fast-shifting market place.
Consider a classic article published by The Wall Street Journal entitled “The Portable CEO: Do You Need an Expert on Widgets to Head a Widget Company? More Boards Are Deciding That Leadership Ability Beats Industry Savvy.” The message is clear throughout this article that the most sought after leaders have cultivated high levels of emotional intelligence. While our philosophy is in alignment with this message, we maintain that if you can find both emotional intelligence and industry savvy within the same individual within your own organization, then why search beyond your organization in your succession planning? If you recognize extraordinary excellence regarding only the technological savvy, then first consider investing in developing emotional intelligence training within your own valued associates before engaging in an outside search.
As for the general population at work, emotional intelligence is cited as the number one impetus for strong retention and engagement rates. As Maya Angelou stated, “People may forget what you’ve said; they may forget what you’ve done, but they will never forget how you’ve made them feel.
SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) offered the following research finding: Only 15% of an employee’s career success is the result of expertise. 85% is the result of interpersonal skills.
Because too few people possess adequate levels of emotional intelligence, most people need emotional intelligence training. Research has shown that people who receive emotional intelligence training in the workplace have a 30% higher productivity rate after one year than people who are not formally trained. Leadership development training is second to orientation as the most common type of corporate training, and it is through leadership development training with a focus on self-awareness that emotional intelligence gets honed. It is another way of saying that more of the “whole” person is brought to the tasks at hand.
Those organizations that maintain a healthy emotional intelligence with staff are the same ones who fearlessly and mutually share honest, sincere feedback. Because your communication is a function of your mind/body/emotion interconnections, of which you may have some limited knowledge and awareness, you must appreciate the complex process involved in being the instrument of your leadership. Thus, telling employees to communicate openly does not make it happen, which makes emotional intelligence training ideal. Intensive personalized leadership development training can offer that high likelihood, resulting in emotionally intelligent communication both within and between organizational departments and divisions, thereby discouraging attrition while enhancing morale and productivity.
In short, operating with emotional intelligence is what distinguishes those organizations that lead their respective markets.
5. Optimize your communication style through a personal transformation process such that others are more likely to connect meaningfully with you both at work and at home.
The Leadership Trust? recognizes you as someone who is so much more than a social security number at work with a job description and role. You have a personal life that affects your work life and vice versa. You have hopes, dreams, fears and other psychological processes that can either exacerbate or ameliorate your stress levels. Our leadership training programs are not only for executives, but for anyone who wants to change their life for the better.? This explains why some people (e.g., retirees, those between jobs, etc.) attend the Personalized Leadership Development Program? for purely personal reasons.
Regardless of your motivation to attend, one thing is certain – upon making a personal transformation, you simultaneously make a professional transformation. We are committed to personalizing our work with you so that you make a deep, positive fundamental change such that whatever techniques or information you may learn later, these resources will be driven through an optimized human system rather than one driven by your fears and other stressors.
It does not matter the reason you wish to attend, they all work – assuming you work the workshop ?– and all facilitators are committed to showing you every step of the way how to do just that.
